Where are they now?

14 Dec 2012

Last week's cold snap may have contributed to the slight increase in reporting of both Fieldfare and Redwing. However, neither species has yet been as conspicuous as they were during the prolonged snow cover of late 2010. This winter, birdwatchers in Britain can help reveal more about numbers, distribution and resource requirements of thrushes by taking part in the BTO Winter Thrushes Survey (WTS). In addition to regular 'winter walks', WTS is seeking to allocate 'core squares', to be surveyed once during the period 27 Dec10 Jan. If you can help, please contact your local BTO Regional Rep. Find out how BirdTrack records helped in planning this survey in the WTS Latest News.
