The Genius of Birds
This is a fascinating book and a very enjoyable read. I found the tone was set just right, with enough explanation to make it readable for non-scientists, while managing to avoid being ‘dumbing down’. It gives a comprehensive overview of the studies regrading bird intelligence and picks out the most interesting results to report, with a reference section at the end for readers who want more information. This is a book packed full of facts, framed in an engaging story-like narrative, so that you learn almost without realising it.
