Ringing Groups
Ringing Groups are formed by people who wish to pursue a common interest in ringing related bird studies. All of the groups below are currently registered with the BTO and operating using BTO rings. As a registered ringing group they will have at least two 'A' permit holders, a formally recognised 'Ringer in Charge' and 'Group Secretary'. The group name should reflect the geographic area in which they operate. There are six exceptions to this (marked * below) which are organisations involved in research who may be using rings anywhere in the UK and Ireland to support their research.
In the list below group names are linked to web pages the groups have told us about. Links to blogs, Facebook pages and other information can be accessed via the appropriate icon. All of the linked pages etc. are maintained by the groups themselves.
