Additional information

Join us at this superb venue in the Yorkshire Dales, with an abundance of birds and other wildlife in the surrounding area. Redstart, Pied Flycatcher, Dipper and Redpoll are all likely, and there's even the chance of Otter! During the Bird Survey Techniques courses we look at general survey principles, which will stand you in good stead for getting involved in any kind of wildlife survey. Using BTO surveys as our examples for the theory sessions and out in the field, you will quickly get a comprehensive overview of the hows and whys of survey methods and discover just how easy and enjoyable they are to do! Participants receive a survey pack, providing all the fieldwork forms needed for the outdoor sessions, a copy of the course notes and a specially-produced CD of bird songs and calls. Practical sessions are carried out in small groups, so there is a high level of tutor-to-participant attention.
