Join our Youth Representative Benjamin to see the fantastic bird life that can be found right on the edge of Belfast!

Join us for a guided walk and presentation at RSPB Belfast's Window on Wildlife (WOW)!

The event will start in the conference room at WOW where we'll hear a brief presentation about the reserve (given by RSPB, and with drinks and snacks available) and about the species likely to be seen and on the key characteristics to look for to be able to identify them (given by Benjamin, your BTO Youth host, and Sorrel, from BTO Northern Ireland).

We will then do some birding from the viewing windows in the visitor centre before walking the short distance to the first hide and then onto the second hide. You don't need to be an expert birder to join at all; we'll have wonderful people on site who can help you get to grips with identifying birds on the reserve.

There are toilets on site and the first hide and walk are wheelchair-friendly. The second hide is not, but there's the option to stay on at the first hide with one of the guides.

Come prepared for any weather in appropriate clothing and footwear, and bring some water and lunch.  There is an option to buy a drink and food at the cafe. The walk will start and finish at the RSPB visitor centre. We will provide transport from Belfast city centre for those unable to get to the reserve by car.

Any questions or to get in touch with the organisers please email youth [at] bto.org.

Please note that this event is open to under 25-year-olds only, with a focus on 11–24-year-olds. Participants under 18 will need to fill in a consent form with their parent(s)/carer(s) and send this to BTO before the event.
