When you think of fast birds its unlikely you’ll be thinking of the Goldcrest, but a recent report from the ringing team suggests that the diminutive Goldcrest is more of a speed demon than you might think. Female Goldcrest, ring number NOS-LE5877, sped from Ana Sira, Sokndal, in Norway to North Somercotes, in Lincolnshire, a total of 665Km in just TWO DAYS.
