Join two of our Youth Representatives for a leisurely walk around the fantastic RSPB Conwy Nature Reserve!

At the reserve you will be introduced to a few of the common duck and wader species found there, along with some basic bird identification skills. This event is focussed at beginners so any level of birder is welcome, even if you have never gone birdwatching before! Participants are also welcome to stick around after the walk for a drink or lunch to chat and further enjoy some time outdoors.

The walk is about two miles long with multiple hides and viewing platforms which we will be stopping at, and the paths are all fairly level and wheelchair accessible. Facilities at the reserve include toilets, a cafe and a shop, although there aren’t any public bins on site so if you will be bringing any packaged food make sure you have a way to take it home.

Come prepared for any weather in appropriate clothing and footwear, it is Wales so make sure you have a waterproof coat! Our Youth Reps will be bringing identification books but feel free to bring your own if you have them, or there is an option at the reserve to borrow binoculars for a £3 fee.

The RSPB Conwy reserve is easily accessible via the A55 or is a 15/20 minute walk from Llandudno Junction train station.

Any questions or to get in touch with the organisers please email youth [at] bto.org.

Please note that this event is open to under 25-year-olds only, with a focus on 12–18-year-olds. Participants under 18 will need to fill in a consent form with their parent(s)/carer(s) and send this to BTO before the event. Participants under 13 will need to attend with their parent(s)/carer(s).
