Status Summary
The UK Shelduck population has shown steady increases since 1965 (Pollitt et al. 2000). The CBC shows a similar pattern, despite being unlikely to be representative of the population as a whole. Recent declines shown by the BBS and by WeBS (Pollitt et al. 2000) may reveal emerging problems for the species.
