RSPB Seabirds

This is a very readable coffee-table book that takes a surprisingly detailed look at our British seabirds, covering all of the main families, including the phalaropes. The most familiar species are treated to individual species accounts, while less common species - such as Surf Scoter, Iceland Gull and Whiskered Tern - make an appearance in sections that wrap up each of the family accounts.

The depth of knowledge presented should provide sufficient detail to interest even those whose seabird knowledge is already well-developed. A key feature of the book is the photography and David Tipling's stunning photographs balance Marianne Taylor's text to deliver a well-rounded book worthy of any coffee table or birdwatcher's bookshelf.
