The Art of Conservation: 25 Years of Birdfair Posters

This book celebrates the British Birdfair. From its beginnings 25 years ago, as the brainwave of two men with a commitment to conservation, it has grown from a small local fair in Rutland to the impressive and respected international event it is today.
The iconic Birdfair posters are instantly recognisable as such and are the focus here, with all but the first three being created by Robert Gillmor using his linocut printing technique.
For each year the book has a 2-page spread, one side of which gives detail of the particular international nature conservation project which is highlighted for that year, the other having a full page reproduction of the poster for the event. As well as the finished posters, there are various extra artworks by Gillmor, including visuals, sketches and pencil roughs outlining his ideas for the posters.
For anyone who has attended the Birdfair, is interested in its history and purpose, and appreciates the art of Robert Gillmor, this is a lovely souvenir book to keep.
