Your BirdTrack places

One of the features of the new version of the BirdTrack App is that it automatically generates a name for new locations created using it. An issue with the previous version was that site naming was optional and the GPS systems on some devices could be slow in updating the grid reference field. Sites created in this way had a generic site name generated ('Mobile-' followed by the grid reference). This led to issues in validating data recorded through 'Mobile-' sites because there is no place name against which to check the grid reference.

If you have any 'Mobile-' sites in your account, please go to 'Manage my sites', check that the location is accurate and provide an informative name. When naming your birdwatching places, please use relevant local names (village or town name) rather than 'home', 'my garden' or similar.
