Bullfinch

It's easy to overlook seasonal changes in the detectability of resident species like Bullfinch. In September and October, I recorded Bullfinch on 32% of visits to the Nunnery Lakes. This month, in 14 visits, that proportion has rocketed to 93%! A quick glance at the results for Britan and Ireland reveals a similar, if less dramatic, rise from 10 to 20% of complete lists over the same period. There's something very satisfying about noticing a pattern on your local patch, then discovering how it fits in with the wider picture: one of the benefits of BirdTracking!
