Canada Goose

Love 'em or hate 'em, Canada Geese are very much part of the avian scenery in England, Wales and southern Scotland. The Canada Goose reporting rate dips noticeably at this time of year, unlike those of several other non-native wildfowl such as Egyptian Goose. Canada Geese moult in late June / early July and are flightless for a short period. Noisy dusk and dawn flights to and from roosting sites are therefore on hold, which may partly account for the drop in reporting. It also makes them easier to catch for ringing studies
