Masses of Mute Swans

One of the great things about BirdTrack is that it can instantly put a particular sighting into perspective. So when I saw 27 Mute Swans at the Nunnery Lakes on Saturday, I was able to find out that of my 234 records of this species (which features on 76% of my visits to the site), this was my highest count by 8! A couple of clicks later and I was viewing the overall reporting rate, which is running a few percent higher than the last couple of winters! Coincidence, probably, but interesting all the same.
