Yellow Wagtail

Lots happening on the migration front in the last few days, with a large arrival of Wheatear and the first 'big push' of Cuckoo and Grasshopper Warbler. Birdwatching is often a very personal experience; a highlight of my weekend was seeing 20 Yellow Wagtail amongst the cattle at Holme Dunes on the north Norfolk coast on Friday afternoon, with more passing overhead the next morning. There is quite a lot of 'noise' in the reporting rate for this species but the peak of spring records is expected in the next fortnight.
