Redstart and Whitethroat

The recent dry weather has been accompanied by some unusually early-returning migrants. The BirdTrack reporting rate for Redstart and Whitethroat already reflects this, showing a higher proportion of complete lists featuring these two species than at the same stage in the last two years. Of course there is far more behind these early arrivals than a week or two of good weather here; these birds will have been making their way from Sub-Saharan Africa since February.
