Although returning migrants are grabbing the headlines, Red Kite recently reached its highest ever reporting rate, appearing on 5% of complete lists. The same period in 2010 also saw the highest rate of the year, perhaps as a result of birds searching for territories as the reintroduced population continues to expand. In comparison, the reporting rate for Kestrel was 10-15% over the last few weeks, whilst Buzzard featured on 25-30% of complete lists over the same period.
