Dartford Warbler

Dartford Warbler populations are known to be adversely affected by very cold weather. The BirdTrack reporting rate is on the increase again now though, in line with the pattern of the previous two springs, so there is room for some optimism about how these rare residents fared last winter. Early spring is the best time to look for them as males sing from prominent perches to establish territories, as captured by this excellent image from the BirdTrack flickr pool.
