Marsh and Willow Tits

This is a great time of year to brush up on the ID of a difficult species pair: Marsh and Willow Tit. Both species are singing, allowing for comparison between the rapid, ringing song of Marsh Tit and the drawn out, plaintive whistles of the generally scarcer Willow Tit (where both occur). We have several excellent images of Marsh and Willow Tit in the BirdTrack flickr pool, which highlight key plumage differences such as the white-edged bill of Marsh Tit.
