Cuckoo Sponsorship Packs
The Cuckoo satellite-tagging project has been delighting both old and young alike, as we have all eagerly followed our intrepid Cuckoos, over sea and desert crossings, to reach their wintering grounds then make the return trip back to their breeding grounds.
Lyster was the first back, returning on May 1st, despite being the last to leave and taking the longest route! He skirted around the west African coast on his way to the Congo, but took a more direct route home, flying straight across the Sahara.

Fund a month of satellite time for one of our Cuckoos
Our satellite tags have a lifetime of two or three years, so as long as the birds survive, the tags will carry on working. It costs us £60 a month for the satellite usage and data retrieval.
If you are buying for a friend of relative who already has a copy of Mike McCarthy's book or you have no need for a free gift, you could help cover the cost of one months satellite time for one of our Cuckoos at £60.
Perfect for Cuckoo or migration enthusiasts. The lucky recipient will receive regular Cuckoo email updates, a personalised certificate and a summary map of the journey taken during a month's satellite time.
Visit our online donation page and pledge £60 to the Out of Africa Appeal. You will then be contacted and asked to provide the gift recipients name and email.
This is a gift that can help Cuckoo conservation in the coming years!
