Invertebrates
The bee-fly Bombylius major, by Mike Toms
The wide range of different habitats on the BTO Nunnery Lakes reserve provide favourable conditions for many different invertebrate species. While some are large and obvious, like the butterflies, shieldbugs and ladybirds, others require targeted effort if you want to see them.
This section of the website is in its early stages, so new groups of pages will appear on a regular basis over the coming months. You will be able to drill down to find out more about particular groups of invertebrates and see lists of those species recorded from the site.
The first of these groups has just been published and covers spiders, harvestmen and other arachnids.
