Abstract from BTO Research Report No 173

The Abundance and Distribution of Waterfowl within Milford Haven after the Sea Empress Oil Spill. Interim Report January 1997

The Sea Empress oil spill in early 1996 affected much of the coastline in the Milford Haven complex. It has provided the opportunity to study the long-term recovery of waterfowl populations following such a disaster. The gathering of this information will be valuable in determining whether the oil spill and the cleaning operations had a lasting effect on the local waterfowl populations.
