Farmland Birds

Great changes have occurred to the management of farmland over the past 30 years. Serious losses in some bird populations on farmland have been identified through a number of BTO monitoring schemes such as the Common Bird Census (CBC), and more recently the Breeding Bird Survey (BBS). Several projects, looking at particular aspects of bird populations on farmland, have been set up in recent years.

Here we report on some of the projects and their findings:
