There are several ways to get involved in National Nest Box Week...

PhotDuring National Nest Box Week itself there are many organised nest box building events around the country that you can attend. We don't have a comprehensive list of these as they are run independently. However, many of the county Wildlife Trusts organise nest box building workshops at their reserves and a list of these can be found at Wildlife Trusts. The RSPB also have many organised nest box making events. Visit the Events page of their web site to find out more. Additionally, there are some events being run by the Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust at various locations. Go to http://www.wwt.org.uk/ to find out more.

Our very good partner, BBC Breathing Places, have useful links on their web site to nest box events and other useful facts about nest boxes. Go to http://www.bbc.co.uk/breathingplaces/. Of course, you don't have get involved in an organised event. Simply Buy or build your own your own nest boxes and put them up in your garden, at your local school, or park. And there is a special sponsorship scheme called nestingspaces for putting up nest boxes in public places.

Whether your nest box is a well established home to several generations of nesting birds or a new one that you have just put up this year, you can register it for Nest Box Challenge, an online survey designed to show us and you a national picture of the success of our nesting birds. Watch the maps as people register their nest boxes and follow their stories through the nesting season.
