Nightingales - a Celebration

The Nightingale is one of the most treasured of Britain's birds, famous for the rich tone, exceptional musicality and high volume of its territorial song. Writer Vikram Seth chose a recording of Nightingales and Lancaster Bombers from our CD 'Nightingales - a Celebration' as his desert island disc of choice.

BBS indicates that, between 1995 and 2009, the British Nightingale population decreased by 57%. This spring we are asking BTO volunteers to help with a full survey of breeding Nightingales across Britain, can you help?
