Personal Data Statement
The BTO will hold your Personal Data on a computerised database
to facilitate the efficient running of this project and other BTO
online projects that you may join in the future. BTO may pass on
to Bird Watch Ireland, all and any Personal Data relating to individuals
living in the Republic of Ireland. The BTO will not use Personal
Data relating to participants living in the Republic of Ireland
collected for this project to contact those people for its own fundraising
or promotional purposes. BirdWatch Ireland and the BTO may jointly
use Personal Data relating to participants living in the Republic
of Ireland to invite those individuals to make financial contributions
to the Migration Watch project.
The BTO and BirdWatch Ireland will not pass your Personal Data
on to third parties for their use except where a third party is
used as an agent to communicate to participants (e.g. a mailing
house). In such circumstances, any third party so contracted will
not be permitted to otherwise use that data or pass it on to any
other parties.
The BTO and
BirdWatch Ireland will follow the protocol established within the
EU Data Protection Directive at all times. All enquiries concerning
those Personal Data held should be directed to The BTO, The Nunnery,
Thetford, Norfolk, UK, IP24 2PU.
We would like
to be able to send you occasional information on other BTO or BirdWatch
Ireland projects that may interest you. We may also invite you to
make financial contributions to BTO or BirdWatch Ireland projects
that we think you would wish to support. Those living in the UK
will normally receive information about BTO projects, while those
living in the Republic of Ireland will receive information about
BirdWatch Ireland projects.
When you register
you will be able to check a box to indicate that you do not want
to receive information about the BTO, including projects, fund raising
and membership.

We would also
like to forward your Migration Watch bird records (not Personal
Data) to relevant county or local bird recorders so that
they also contribute to knowledge about the birds of your local
area. When you register you will be able to check a box to indicate
that you do not want us to send your records to bird recorders.
When you register
for Migration Watch you will be asked to confirm your acceptance
of the above arrangements for handling your personal data.
