Help on the point and click map interface
The point and
click map interface allows you to tell us where you made your observations
by simply clicking on a map. Unfortunately we can only offer this
facility for Britain at present because we have not yet been able
to obtain appropriate maps for Ireland.
- When you
click on the Goto Map button on the site registration form a new
window will open with a map of Britain divided into 100 km squares.
Click on the square where your observations were made.
- You will
now see a map of the 100 km square that you selected, divided
into 20 x 20 km squares. Click on the square where your observations
were made.
- You will
now see a more detailed map of the 20 x 20 km square where your
observations were made. Click on the centre of your recording
site. A grid reference will appear below the map.
- When you
are happy that you have selected the correct point on the map
click the continue button. The map window will close and you will
be back at the site registration form. The grid reference boxes
on that form will have been completed automatically.
