of the status and habitat relationships of woodland birds
and the impact upon them of processing operating within woodlands.
Projects I have been involved in include the Repeat Woodland
Bird Survey (a major joint project with the RSPB examining
population changes in British woodland birds and their causes),
the Scarce Woodland Bird Survey (a volunteer-based survey
designed to assess regional variations in habitat associations
and density in specialist woodland birds) and studies looking
at edge-use by woodland birds, habitat occupancy by Nightingales,
predation of birds nest contents by Grey Squirrels and the
effects of deer grazing of woodland birds.
