I am responsible for the running, maintenance, security and development of all computer systems and applications in use at the Trust and am responsible for the maintenance of the archives, both computer and paper.
Qualifications
MA Zoology, St Johns College, Oxford, 1971-1974.
DPhil Habitats and feeding stations of birds in Tsavo National Park, Kenya (St Johns College, Oxford 1974-1979)
Research Interests/Responsibilities

My post involves overseeing the maintenance, development and security of all computer systems and applications in use. These include several servers, about 100 PCs and internal and external connections; and on 3 sites: Thetford, BTO Scotland in Stirling and the Web Application Servers at University of East Anglia. On these are several science databases, including those for the online surveys (eg BirdTrack) and internal to The Nunnery (eg Ringing), and the Membership database, and the various applications which use these.
I also have responsibility for the archives of the Trust both electronic and on paper.
Scientific areas in which I have a continued interest include: birds in winter, migration strategies particularly in respect of Palearctic-Africa migrants, birds in Africa generally.
